Welcome to Geneva Lake Art Association Founded in 1947 we are an organization formed for the purpose of encouraging individual artistic growth and excellence. GLAA fosters a community appreciation of the fine arts through the arrangement of shows, monthly programs, lectures, demonstrations and workshops. We are a volunteer organization under the direction of an elected board of directors. We support and encourage all forms of art and cultural activities. Funding comes from membership dues, gallery fees, sponsors, fund raisers and the proceeds from our annual Art in the Park outdoor juried fine art show. Geneva Lake Art Association Gallery features member artists in several theme shows each year. New paid members are eligible to display work in our member gallery shows and after a six month wait at our Art in the Park members' tent. GLAA Studio Art School, started in 1999, offers classes in a variety of media. View the class schedule on line or pick up a copy at the gallery. Participation is open to non members. GLAA hosts Art in the Park, a juried fine art show the second weekend in August each year. Art in the Park attracts national artist participation. Members who have volunteered to work the required sessions in our gallery and have met the six months of membership criteria are eligible to display in our members' tent at this event. GLAA is located in the Northshore Pavilion at 647 W. Main Street in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin 53147. Our gallery phone number is 262.249.7988. The gallery is open to the public on Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm and on Sundays from 1 pm to 4 pm. GLAA members receive a monthly newsletter that keeps them up to date on activities and news of the organization. The newsletter will keep you knowledgeable about dates and times of our shows, gallery opening receptions, classes and all related functions. GLAA General Meetings are held in the gallery the last Thursday evening of the month from 7 to 9 pm. We have a short business meeting followed by a demonstration or art related program. It is a wonderful chance to observe the techniques of talented artists and to meet other kindred spirits in the pursuit of art. GLAA Sponsored Workshops are available first to our members. There are usually one or two held each year. GLAA also sponsors the Lake Geneva Paint In and Kids Kamp each summer. Thank you for your interest in Geneva Lake Art Association. |
