Monday

Multi Level Drawing with Jeff Johnston This class is designed to improve drawing skills and sharpen your eyes. We'll work on gesture, proportion, value and contour. Drawing is the foundation for all art.11am-2pm 262-745-6115, $15/class. Limit 8 students. Please pre-register

Tuesday

Acrylics with Jack Flanigan Welcome new member Jack Flanigan. He has been a McHenry County College instructor and is now providing art classes at GLAA. Jack is offering instruction in Caran d'arches Technique. This special "crayon" that can look like watercolor or thick like acrylic is fun to work with. 2pm - 5pm, Call Jack at 262-215-2511. $15/class.
 
Open Studio with Elizabeth Chappell Build your own canvas and with a projector, paint large art. All ages welcome. 3pm-5pm @ Three Lions Art Studio. Six week class. Call Elizabeth at 262-903-8035. $75/Class, Supplies $25.

Wednesday

Open Studio Join other GLAA membersa and use this time to create at your own pace and with the medium of you choice. 9am - noon, Begins April 1. Questions, call Emily DeBaere 262-248-4349. $1 fee per session.

Mixed Media with Mickey Fielitz This class will encourage you to use your imagination while learning all Mickey has to offer. Portrait painting, negative painting and experimental use of papers are all taught in this beginner to intermediate class. 1pm-4pm, Class begins June 3. Call Mickey 262-248-1036, $15/class.

Thursday

Summer Watercolor Class with Nancy Newcomb Join our on going class emphasizing landscapes, abstracts, art history, great critiques and classical watercolor instruction. 9am-Noon. Call Nancy at 262-248-6344, $15/class. Limit 12 students.

Life Drawing Studio with a Clothed Model hosted by Martha Driscoll Use the medium of your choice and enjoy the open studio time, drawing from a live model. 2pm-5pm, Four week class beginning June 15. Class is held when model is available. Contact Martha at 314-580-5505 or by e-mail mgdriscollart@yahoo.com. Fee is for the model and to be paid at the first class: $40 for GLAA members, $56 for non-members; model tips optional.

 

Friday

Botanical Watercolor with Lynne Railsback Lynne will teach the techniques she uses to paint her botanical watercolors. She will assist the students as they work on their own paintings. The subject matter will be based on nature with a focus on wildflowers. Class will meet once a week from 9 am - noon on Fridays. Anyone considering taking the class should call her at 262-245-5367. Cost is $20 per class.

The following is s suggested supply list: 3 - Richeson 9000-0/3 brushes, 1 - Richeson 9000-0 brush, 1 Richeson 8 well slanted mixing tray 4" x 12" limited to the following pigments: Viridian, Burnt Umber, Permanent Rose, Ultramarine Blue and Aurelian, 1 - small spray water bottle, 1 foam core board 10" x 15", 1 - Strathmore 500 Series Bristol Board Plate Surface 3 ply paper 23" x 29" cut into 2 pieces 11:5"x14.5" and 4 pieces 5.75" x 7.75", a water jar, a small mixing brush, a roll of paper towels and masking tape.
