The Annual GLAA Student Art Competition and Exhibition Winners Announced!
Exhibition Runs May 3, 2013 - June 2, 2013
The GLAA Gallery
Badger High School Art Teacher, Don Hammond and The Neal Heffernan
Best of Show Award Winner, Dania Knotek, Badger High School
The GLAA hosted the opening for the annual Student Art Exhibit, which features artwork from our own GLAA Art School and students representing three area high schools. The talent portrayed by these students is truly remarkable. I recommend that all the members make an effort to see this exhibit sometime before it comes down on June 2nd.
Scholarship awards were given to the outstanding work done by local high school students, but the entire exhibit is worthy of note. Friends, parents and teachers turned out on opening night to support the artists, which encourages students to improve their offerings each year.
Monetary scholarships are provided by the Lake Geneva Rotary’s Neal Heffernan Fund, the Louis Mergener family and our own association. This year we increased the amount of our own scholarship to $1,000 to support this program. Together with the scholarship awards, ten students received a total of $2,750 towards their future art education.
